Program Schedule
Kathy Corey and
Michael King teach a two day workshop on how the Pilates exercises were originally taught in the New York Studio. The course includes Mat work, small props, Reformer, Wunda Chair and Cadillac exercises, then combines the individual programs into a studio system.
The target audience for the workshop is Pilates professionals. Pilates enthusiasts wanting to learn program design from Master Teachers are welcome. Kathy and Michael will assume everyone in the workshop has extensive experience with Pilates.
Saturday June 12 - Day 1 - Mat Work Day
Section One looks at seamlessly bringing in the Pilates Principals in preparation work for maximum effectiveness. Instructors are challenged by clients who come to sessions having spent the day behind a desk. Instructors have to be able to prepare the body for more effective work.
Sections Two through Five focus on Classical Movements and Contemporary Modifications. Each section looks at classical movements with contemporary modifications and the use and need for props such as foam rollers, rings, bands and balls.
