...not did it also help me to overcome a back injury, it also started an industry in Australia. Over the years this passion has not faded. Every new client that comes in offers me more insights into the human body and its workings. This instills in me a thirst for more knowledge and creativity to conquer long-standing issues - and the look of gratitude, whether from a client or a trainee instructor, is like a child lighting up with a revelation of something new they have not experienced before. To know you were part of that is priceless.

it helps my clients live full and active lives. I cannot think of a more gratifying profession! Although I have had a successful career in the fitness industry since 1986, no other form of movement has impacted my life in such a profound way. But more importantly than that, the greatest aspects of teaching Pilates are the changes that I see in my clients and the success stories they share with me. I love the depth and breadth of the classical work which still allows for creative interpretation for a full-time instructor like me.

Pilates touches all ages, body types, physical disabilities and fitness levels, bringing them together in mind and body. I am truly amazed at how much I can learn from the bodies I touch and interact with on a daily basis. Pilates allows me to continue to learn and grow on a daily basis from the elders down to the newest student in a teacher training or class. I appreciate the fact that I continue to learn from all of these individuals. I am truly blessed to be a part of such a wonderful industry, one of sharing, learning, listening and helping others. Thank you for giving me to opportunity to share this gift with a wider audience through Pilates Anytime. I am so excited!

it is an exercise program that works for everyone. All types of body types, ages and skill levels can benefit from the teachings of Joseph Pilates. Many clients have told me that Pilates is the only exercise that they haven't quit, because it feels so good as you are working hard. Pilates is addictive. It's stretching with strength and control. A perfect combo. The stretch feels good, your strength is the work and the controlling of your movements is the heart of Pilates. It is so rewarding as a teacher to see clients progress.

I love to teach Pilates because I have repeatedly seen the work improve clients’ lives! There is no better feeling than to see a client stand taller, stronger and more confident because of Pilates. “I was taller at my last physical”, “It’s easier to do chores”, “I don’t have back pain anymore.” I hear comments like these daily from clients reaping the benefits of Pilates. And in 2009 I experienced the benefits of Pilates personally. Diagnosed with breast cancer, it was my Pilates practice that helped me return to teaching only two weeks after surgery. Pilates transforms lives everyday!

Pilates is not just exercise, it is a way of life. Having practiced Pilates for 20 years, never once have I been bored or uninspired. In fact, I am continuously challenged and inspired by the method because it is so rich and diverse. I love teaching because I love sharing my passion for Pilates with others. I enjoy watching clients' bodies change and get stronger. The highest compliment is when a client tells me that connections they made in the studio translated into their daily life. But most of all, I love teaching Pilates because I love helping others find their inner strength and thus motivate them to be the best that they can be.

I love to teach Pilates because...
I enjoy helping people. I’ve had the great opportunity to witness first hand the healing abilities of the Pilates Method and how it can change lives. I never thought I would be working in a rehab facility when I initially signed up for my Pilates training. Life happened and I married a physical therapist who also became interested in the Pilates Method for rehabbing his patients. We started studying Pilates together in 2002 and we haven’t looked back. I now get to work with various conditions and populations including: spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, back pain, MS, CP, professional athletes, to the common day laborer and desk worker. I’ve fell so much in love with the system I not only want to help my clients, but I want to help others do the same. So my husband and I have started our own Pilates Teacher Training Program, CORE Therapy and Pilates Teacher Training.

after being a Pilates Instructor for 11 years, I still love my job because, to me, it is not a job. It is helping people in ways they would not be able to help themselves. It is incredibly gratifying to be a part of someone’s journey of healing, or helping a client reach a fitness milestone they never dreamed possible. I love the challenge of finding the right motivation and designing a program to improve my clients’ function and well-being. To me, Pilates is a holistic approach which brings back function, healthy living, developmental achievements, and life skills which have the potential to positively transform the life for both children and adults. of the strength, balance and joy it brings to each of my clients. I left my job as a lawyer 15 years ago in order to empower others to discover and take control of their true potential and freedom of movement that lives within them. Growing up in Philadelphia as an athlete with tremendous drive, my life was marked by accomplishment; achieving elite status as a competitive triathlete and earning a law degree from Rutgers. After moving to LA to practice law. I found Pilates, seeking balance from the impact on my body from intense training in swimming, cycling and running. As a classically trained athlete I was amazed at how much stronger and better I felt. My core was more in tact, I was "re-aligned" and less prone to injury. Pilates had such an incredible impact, by strengthening muscles that never had even had a chance to work before due to lack of flexibility or range of motion. My mind/perspective shifted from “push harder” to “continuous evolution." My experience and results was life changing for me and it has been life changing for others. It gives me joy to see my clients going through this transformation as well.

And when I chose to make Pilates a part of my life, I’ve been eager and passionate about introducing it to others ever since. As an instructor, it is exciting to not only witness my clients’ reach their physical goals, but receive feedback regarding the positive transformations they experience to their overall health and wellness. It’s also encouraging to see the Pilates concepts & principles in addition to proper form, breathing techniques and the recruitment of correct muscle groups when executing a given movement carry over to other fitness formats a client may practice.

I can be of service to people. My goal is to be a teacher with depth, courage and the capacity to truly facilitate change for my clients. I began Pilates as a child with the renowned Carola Trier who operated a studio with Joseph Pilates. Over the past decade I have helped an impressive range of people from a model to a ballerina. In my classes you find a wide variety of people including teenagers, athletes, moms, and people with MS and spinal stenosis. I am grateful everyday for my profession.

I love helping people be the best they can be. From the novice client to the more seasoned client there is always room for improvement and something new and exciting to teach and learn as an instructor. It is so rewarding to watch my clients posture, strength, flexibility, and mental attitude improve over the months and years they practice Pilates. When my 3 year old daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia back in February 2012 doing my hour Pilates workout every morning and the love and support of my amazing clients truly helped get me through that tough first month of my daughter's treatment.

I love to teach Pilates because...
it connects your body and mind together. It helps people understand their body, helps them understand how to move properly and feel joy! A good Pilates class can tone, sculpt and design your body to the maximum. I am a former dancer and I love how people both get more strength and flexibility. It opens their heart and spirit! I am the owner and manager of Scandinavia's biggest Pilates studio, I opened in 2003 and it is still growing and growing! My biggest motivation is to see all my happy clients go regularly to our classes and keep their bodies fit and strong no matter their age or background.

I love to teach Pilates because...
it is a vehicle for discovery and empowerment. I feel a surge of passion and sheer joy when I watch a student discover the wealth of potential that has been within their body all along. I am motivated by the challenge of helping new students realize that their bodies are not broken, just not functioning efficiently. I am inspired seeing my clients light up when they discover something new, and by the constant work of developing a deeper understanding of kinetic function. Pilates never gets old – it challenges us to evolve.

not only does it allow me to share something I love and am passionate about with my students, but it also helps to change all of our lives for the better. There is nothing like the feeling of coming into a deeper understanding of yourself and your body through this amazing system for whole body healing. There is also nothing like facilitating that growth for someone else. I get to learn something new or create a change every day of my life and I strive to give my clients that same experience toward growth.

I love to teach Pilates because...
the system introduced me to a holistic way of evaluating and treating the body in my physical therapy practice 10 years ago. After learning about Pilates in a job interview, I was immediately intrigued by what I was finding in researching the topic. Within a month, a PT job opening came up in Santa Monica at a Pilates Physical Therapy & Fitness Studio. Within weeks of accepting this job, I was enrolled in my Pilates Certification program and utilizing Pilates idea's with each of my PT patients. What a fun 10 years its been since as a student learning the system in my body as well as teaching Pilates to my patients.

I am a true believer that the body and mind can heal itself. And I refuse to take ‘I can’t’ or 'I won't' as answers to healing and learning ones own body. The pure joy of my clients as they feel their own body’s progress, is truly why I love to teach and continue my own learning in this exploration of the body as we, together, create it’s manual.
