I am a pilates teacher and personal trainer and have been practicing pilates for years now. I have suspected muscle wastage in my hip and I find when I am on my side doing side kicks or leg circles it feels as though my hip pops out and pops back in, it never used to be uncomfortable but sometimes when doing the exercises it feels as though it builds up with tension then pops which is quite annoying. Also though, when i lie on my side and lift both legs up off the mat my hips dig in to the mat and it is AGONY. So I have to veto those exercises which is frustrating I teach side exercises still in class but I usually have to stand up to demonstrate as it's too painful, Does anyone have any advice for me?!
