I always thought of myself as having tight hips, and I probably do. But, I'm beginning to realize that my tight ankles make hip opening near impossible. For example, sitting cross legged. Are there any classes where the interrelationship between the two are addressed? Or any suggestions? Thanks
Rina ~ Thank you for your forum post. We don't have any classes that specifically address this relationship, but we do have many videos that work on the feet. I have included a link here. I hope they help!
Thanks for responding. I have taken some of the feet classes many times. They are terrific, but do not address the interrelationship between the tightness of the hips, knees and ankles.
Hi Rina, I'm not sure if she addresses it specifically, but Madeline Black has a class based on Philip Beach's work that certainly touches on actions that affect all three joints in relationship. I wonder if this is what you're looking for?
Kristi, thanks for responding. I love that class of Madeline's and have taken it a number of times. I find it to be very important. But, it does not address what I'm looking for. I am convinced there is a relationship between the tightness of the two, at least there is for me. Since I'm already writing to you, I want to tell you how much Pilates Anytime means to me. I started here 3 1/2 years ago never having taken a Pilates class. I wouldn't say I'm a pro now but considered that I'm 58 with stiffness issues from fibromyalgia - I'm doing great.
