Hi everyone! I had a strange case, and was hoping you could help/give ideas:
One of my clients (male, 24 y.o., first classes in mat Pilates) experiences pain and discomfort with single leg raises.
This happens in standing, with weight-shifts to one leg, with the other one lifted slightly from the floor. The same in lying on the back, when the knees are bent and we transfer the weight to one leg and lift the other slightly off the ground.
The pelvis in neutral/slightly ppt doesn't change, painful either way. The location of the pain is not very clear for him, but it's around the side of the hip, slightly above and greater trochanter.
The combination of leg lift with rotation apparently made it worse -- so a simple twist like lying on the back with one leg bent and going to the opposite side was intolerable.
Perhaps you have come across a similar case? Any advice/ideas/references would be welcome!
