Opinions on Pilates Reformer Loops/Handles

Hello,
I just bought a studio and the reformers currently have a combo of handles and loops attached to them. They really are a pain in the rear in every exercise because they just get in the way when doing feet in straps or pretty much any arm exercise. What is your opinion on the best way to deal with this problem (I don't have the option of getting new ropes, eventhough I would prefer gratz style). I like the double loops but some clients say that it bothers their hands in certain exercises. What do you think?
