working with amputees

I am working with my first amputee client today, 1 leg above the knee, I know there are lots of things to work on but any input would be appreciated.
Hi Sherri, I never personally worked with an amputee. But there is an interesting segment Dr. Brent Anderson from Polestar Pilates does wtih amputees on the Balanced Body podcast. Hes also a PT.. You may already be aware of him. I found it very interesting. Good luck.. hope that helps!! Jamie
I'll be shocked if you ladies respond but its worth a shot :) I have my first amputee client. Woman, late 60's, Rt rotator cuff tear and rods in L4 & L5. Left foot 1/4 of the shin removed. I would appreciate any info you can share with me.
Meghan and Sherri first of all, how wonderful! There are a handful of instructors who could probably help you with this but the most notable one for me is Elizabeth Larkam. Check out what she's doing with Heroes in Motion in association with the PMA. I suspect you'll find more resources there.
