I'm glad you enjoyed the class!
As far as the supination, having the weight to the outside edge of the feet prevents pronation, rolling the knees inward and lifts the arches of the feet. The knees can potentially open wider promoting a deeper gluteal and outer thigh connection. As well as a sense of pulling up on the inner thighs as you lengthen and press the carriage back and then getting more range of motion on the way in by opening the legs wider.
It is a standard JL position in footwork...
