Very difficult class! I’m wondering if my hip should shift so much to the outside of my standing leg on the sequence with the hand on the ball and other leg stretched out…my hip was at least 1-3 inches shifted. I ended up dropping the ball and putting my opposite hand down so I could be more square…what is correct? Thanks
Monika S thank you for your comment and excellent question. I am assuming you are inquiring about the move on one knee (kneeling vs. standing) and one hand placed on ball. I feel it is important for the hip to stay over the knee, thigh vertical to the floor, in order to not sink into that "standing" hip joint. You can do so by engaging the supporting glute, as well as, the extending "working leg." This remains the same whether the hips are square to the floor or open to the side. Your choice to remove the ball from under one hand and place that hand on the floor for more stability is an excellent modification. I hope this is helpful and please don't hesitate to reach out with any additional questions!
Wow! So challenging and fun. Classical yet upbeat. Lovely pace and cueing, highly recommend! As much as it felt like torture during some sequences, I now feel stretched, untensed and relaxed hahah.
This was definitely a more challenging class and I would not classify this as intermediate. I follow all your sessions and did have difficulty staying square to the floor when on my knees. I had to keep checking my posture. Thanks for your suggestions above. I plan to revisit this class again but I know I must pay close attention to all your excellent cues and modify with my osteoarthritic knees.
