Michael you can experiment breathing in or out as you initiate and return and compare the effects and quality. The breath will be shorter because your under load, use it to help activate and be efficient. I prefer to exhale out for clear activation and inhale back for length and efficiency.
Mia yes it’s OK to have a little abdominal movement on the inhale phase on the breath. Your not pushing your belly out and your not allowing the lower back to shorten. Your just allowing an inner elastic quality for better movement. Thank you Pilates Anytime and sending you all my best!

Nice combination of Pilates and Franklin work together. very clear,....important to check in with this work to maker sure our Pilates cueing doesn't become rote "navel to spine".
