Christi Idavoy

About Christi

I encourage my clients to take responsibility for their own wellness by it heals. Pilates is consciousness of the universal grid that connects all living beings through movement. As we align the mind-body-soul self through the practice we help others become aware of connectivity within ourselves and the world we share. This feeling 'connected´to your body and mind generates a connection with life itself. In this way Pilates heals all.

I encourage my clients to take responsibility for their own wellness by I love helping people reach their goals. I love helping people feel more confident in their body and seeing that translate to more confidence in life. I love seeing how the mind-body connection of Pilates creates a sense of peace in the client. I love watching the quiet strength that clients assume with regular Pilates practice. I love seeing clients grow stronger, more flexible, and calmer. I love seeing my clients have more open, upright postures. When clients feel bad about a body part or feel like they can't perform a task, I love offering a shift to all the wonderful things about their body and all the miraculous things their body can do. I love being able to allow only kind people as clients, and preserving that precious sense of support and encouragement in my studio. I love offering a safe haven for people to find peace for an hour of their day. I love my clients and I love teaching Pilates.

I encourage my clients to take responsibility for their own wellness by sharing the knowledge of Pilates and the human body with students and clients who are willing to listen and learn is the biggest privilege. I take that privilege very seriously! I discovered Pilates about one year after earning a Masters Degree in physical therapy from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Instantly, I knew I needed to learn more about Pilates. I took my first certification course in 2001. As with many Pilates students, after my first mat course I was thrilled with how much I had learned but humbled at how much more I needed to know. This took me on a journey earning my complete Pilates certification through Power Pilates in Annapolis, MD with Erin Horst and Tressa Campbell. Combining my physical therapy education and Pilates education has been an amazing experience and opportunity. Being able to provide a sense of achievement, wellness, and fitness for my clients has been beyond satisfying. If you are a rehab client, fitness enthusiast, athlete, or recovering from an illness or physical setback, Pilates can help. Having this opportunity to help is why I love to teach Pilates.

I encourage my clients to take responsibility for their own wellness by I love to inspire people to better move and understand their bodies. It is satisfying because no matter what issues people have when they come to me, there is always a road to health through Pilates. I love interacting with students on the most personal level (i.e. their physical, mental, and spiritual selves) and then watching them thrive in their daily lives without pain. It's that one moment, that light bulb that goes off in their heads when I see them truly connect to themselves that brings me the most joy in teaching this most amazing practice.

About Kristen

I encourage my clients to take responsibility for their own wellness by I’m able to share something that I’m passionate about and truly believe in. As a teacher I’m in a position to empower people to move more effectively through their day-to-day lives. On a daily basis I'm inspired by the changes I see in front of me as I watch people build strength and make health a priority in their lives. I’m grateful for all that Pilates has taught me, not only about the body, but also about life. I’m one of the lucky ones, as I get to do what I love.

I encourage my clients to take responsibility for their own wellness by in the words of Rael Isacowitz, "Pilates is for ANYONE, it just may not be for everyone." Pilates is such an amazing movement tool for anyone of any age; any fitness level; individuals recovering from injury; individuals with chronic pain; as well as elite athletes. Personally, Pilates has been a strong constant in my life. I was able to practice and teach as I went back to school to become a PTA. I was able to find 4 welcoming Pilates environments as my husband and I have moved over the course of study and his career!

Louise Johns

About Louise

I encourage my clients to take responsibility for their own wellness by ...its the ideal movement modality that is perfect for anybody, any age, of any fitness level and any ability. It provides me with the tools to be creative bringing movement into peoples' lives giving them the freedom to change the way they move in the world and how they interact in their own bodies. Sharing the Pilates method is a delight and pleasure everyday, I love the way it has changed my own body and how it guided me back to health after receiving a bone marrow transplant in 2006.

I encourage my clients to take responsibility for their own wellness by it can change a person's body in ways that impact his or her quality of life, and being able to share that with others is very rewarding. Plus, I enjoy hearing clients say at the end of a workout, "I feel much better, thanks!" In a small way, I'm helping make the world a happier place, and we can sure use more happiness.
