Every Pilates Anytime Instructor has a profile page. As part of that profile page we include a short profile video of the instructor talking about their career, life and, most importantly, Pilates.
The final video that we put up on the site is typically between 5 and 10 minutes in length, but we do not have a fixed duration. The filming process generally takes between 30-60 minutes.
The composition of the shot is a very simple headshot of the instructor talking.
Here is an example with
Kristi Cooper.
The instructor should look at the camera and not the interviewer. The interviewer will be close to the camera, but out of the shot.
The way we film these is to ask the instructor a question and the instructor responds by answering the question. The interviewer is not featured in the video and is simply there to help with the process.
As the interviewer is not included in the final video each question needs to be answered with a statement. For example the interviewer might ask "How did you discover Pilates?" and the instructor will answer with "I discovered Pilates when I was at....".
Typically the interviewer will ask the following questions (but we are happy to include others and exclude some):
Q. Who are you and where do you live?
Q. Tell us about your studio or other Pilates related businesses?
Q. How did you discover Pilates?
Q. What does Pilates mean to you?
Q. Do you have any advice for an individual thinking about starting a career as a Pilates instructor?
Q. Why should people adopt Pilates as their primary exercise program?
Q. Do you have any advice for people considering taking up Pilates for the first time?
Q. Is there anybody that has particularly inspired or influenced you in your Pilates career and why?
Q. Can you tell us about an experience in which Pilates benefited a client or someone you know?
Q. Outside of Pilates what do you do for fun?
Finally and most importantly please have fun with the interview and try and be relaxed. We can do as many retakes as you like.
