Has it changed your body in the sense that it is more finely toned. I have two kids and want to tone my core most of all. Will this help? I will be doing my first class later today and would really like to know from someone who has been doing this a while and seen results.

Jessica, I'm sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I can tell you from my experience, pilates has not only toned every large and small muscle group for me, but has "aligned" my spine and elongated each muscle in the same way a ballet class would. Because each class usually focuses on a full-body workout, you are hitting everything. My core, by far, has shown the most improvement...without a doubt. Movements like these create a core of steel :) I've never experienced this type of strength before, and I've been resistance training, circuit training, kickboxing, playing sports all along.

Since it's been 3 months since getting back to you, you've probably tried it out. I swear that if you stick with pilates, either mat or the reformer, you will see yourself stronger and more streamlined. I've been doing pilates for about 5 years now, about 3-4 times/week, and it's been the foundation for everything I've been involved in, including running, kickboxing, yoga, circuit training, ballet, snowboarding.... If it's one thing I'll never give up, it's pilates. I know it may sound corny, but it's true. :) I hope you find yourself loving these classes. Pilates Anytime has the most comprehensive instructors, with excellent training structures for each class. The levels are wonderful. Although I've been training with level 3 classes, I go back to level 1s and 2s all the time. You'll learn to love the different paces of the classes. If it weren't for this site I definitely would not have gotten so into it. So have a awesome time with it!
