Yes, yes & yes. Much needed thank you Jonathan. I honestly believe even as teachers we can not get enough of these types of tutorials. Every time I review I either pick something new up or am reminded of something I maybe missed or did not quite 'get' the first , second or third time around.

Thank you Jonathon, well explained. Like how Ron furthered the basic pelvic rotation.

Forgot to say that Fryette's law loosely describes what happens to the cervical and lumbar vertebrae but not to thoracic. Bayliss provides more up to date information about all these motions. Thanks for bringing this forward.
Thank you Jonathan! This reminds me how important it is to take the time to watch these tutorials, they are invaluable. I will incorporate these movements into my classes.

Thank You
enjoyed the progressions of each of the movements. I like add ons because as you said it helps to see where my limitations may be. I also like that I can use these as a preparation for my movements. It s like what Elizabeth Larkam does.. sequencing for success… I want to be successful :)
Thank you for sharing! Your thoughtful tutorial is such a great reminder on how important progressions are !

I also recently discovered how little rotation there is in the basic mat exercises. No wonder I’ve been struggling with exercises like Corkscrew. Struggling not because I can’t perform the exercise but resistant to perform concerned I am reinforcing patterns that aren’t improving my functional movement and muscular imbalances. Building awareness of where I’m moving from in the more advanced exercises that include rotation and side-bending is exactly what I’m working on, so thrilled you offered this.

JO, Do you have other tips on what one should be thinking about activating anatomically during “sway/tick-tock” “side bending while sitting in diamond” “spine twist” and "side-leg pattern”? You refer to the “upper” and “lower” oblique line but if there’s more you can add in terms of muscular queues that’d be great because this is what helps me visualize what I’m doing. It’d be nice if there was a class (vs. tutorial) with these exercises and side-leg pattern to do on a regular basis.
