Clicky hips when doing the "femur arcs" exercise

Whenever I lower my leg to the ground, my hip clicks. Coming back up is ok.
I've tried several things to fix this - stretch hip flexors, contract my glutes more during the exercise... but they don't seem to be helpful.

I was wondering whether anyone else has this problem, and can give me some advice? Thanks :)
Jenny try changing the positioning of your feet. Are you internally or externally rotating through the hips while You are doing this exercise? Sometimes just changing the position up a bit helps. It does for me.. I have a "clicky" left hip.

And i have two of them...
I have been told that this is an IT band issue and can be improved with additional stretching. I am still working on my "clicky" hip though.

Thanks thats a clue:)

Where in the hip is the click? Internal/medial could be a labral issue. External/lateral IT Band. If the click is coming from the spine, it could be instability. I've been advised to stay in a "click-free zone" to help strengthen and stabilize. My own "click" felt like it was hip till I located it around L4.

Try to REALLY l-e-n-g-t-h-en the leg all the way growing inner thigh to the foot and hopefully it helps to resolve the clicking.
squeeze your sits bones :)
I have heard this is an over active psoas clunking over the femoral head? Focusing on activating the deep iliacus and creating length from the sit bones and in the front of the hips can help.
I find that activating my
Pelvic floor right before that click is about to happen seems to help no have a clicky hip too:)
