Healthy knees

Well I am in my 2nd week of post rehab and although have had a few set backs I am progressing along nicely now.
I was looking through the site yesterday and noticed you guys have everything covered here on PA pretty much, with such a variety of classes all the way down to the feet. But,, I didnt see anything that specifies knees.. I know thats where my head is now no doubt, But a small class on healthy knees would be nice! I have never been so aware of how important it is to have good alignment and how having knee issues can put you in such misalignment,, so would u consider a class of this sort? and maybe show some modification for those with bad knees during mat or reformer classes? I dont know, just throwing it out there for whoever might be interested. Would be appreciated!

Hi Jamie, thank you for your post. I'd be happy to film a short class or include a segment in a class related to knee 'stuff'. I do know from personal experience that I need to keep my quads stretched out/rolled with the roller etc. so that the shortness and/or tightness in this tissue doesn't interfere with my patella tracking. But there are certainly specific exercises that might be more what you're looking for. We'll get on it!

Coming from a dance background, plus having genetically inherited problematic knees,(three uncles and my mom have had knee replacements), plus having undergone arthroscopic surgeries on both knees, I can relate to the necessity having some help with sessions on the reformer, or chair.
It would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Amy C.
I would appreciate this too !
Hear, hear! Very interested in what Pilates exercises (on any or all equipment) are recommended for torn meniscus (when allowed to) rehab.

I would also love for you to have a CEC workshop regarding knees, especially with information regarding modifications on the apparatus. I've been struggling with arthritis in my knees for the past year.
Hi there everyone! I'll make sure to mention the desire for knee topics to our visiting instructors. Brent Anderson has a workshop coming out on Hip pathologies. I think he briefly addresses the knee, but probably not to the level that you are all talking about here.
I also have several clients with knee issues ranging from weakness to recent replacement. Once they are strong enough to taper the PT it would be great to have a class which focus on strengthening, with modifications where complete range of motion is not yet available.
