I have just found out that a regular client of mine for the last 6 year has been diagnosed with osteoporosis. I have started to modify her program with limited spinal flexion and spinal flexion with rotation. Should I eliminate these completely or phase them out gradually or is it ok to keep some exercises in that involve this type of movement?
Hi Robyn, There are a number of factors to consider: -her bone density score in her spine (was the diagnosis referencing her spine as well as her hip?) -any loss of height -history of fractures -secondary risk factors like medical conditions or medications that are known to negatively affect the bones These will impact your programming.
