Teaser problems!!

Hi there -

I need advice on the teaser!

When I try to do the full teaser I get a real feeling of tightness in my quads, so much so that I just can't extend my legs out and have to keep them in a bent position. My pilates instructor said that this is due to tight hamstrings? Would this be the case and why do I then feel it in the front of my thighs rather than the back of them?

Sounds like your quads (rectus femoris, which crosses the hip joint) is trying to take over the work of the main hip flexor--the iliopsoas. If you put your fingers in your hip crease and feel the rigid muscle gripping, that's your rec fem. I just watched a good video on this today by Rebecca Leone on her vimeo site. Google her, and look for "Cathy's Developmental Private." I have this same issue, by the way...
