Lesson planning

Hi all I am in my second term of teaching and just wondering how you all plan your lessons?
I am doing term time blocks of -6-7 weeks and my first term I progressed the exercises each week. Just wondered if you plan as a block or just mix and match any lesson plans you have?
Any help and advice appreciated.

Hi Bunny, great question! I think lesson planning is quite varied depending on many things, e.g., is the session a private session, a duet or a group class? is the student new to Pilates or experienced? What is your objective for the session? e.g., a general workout, advancing the student, to remediate a particular issue or issues. Various schools teach different approaches. Some stick with the classical order, some group exercises according to various criteria and some are more rehabilitative. Whatever you plan it should address the student's goals and needs, be appropriate for the student's capability and provide a positive movement experience. Pilates Anytime is a great resource for lesson plan ideas. Hope that helps.
