I have a new client who suffers from vertigo. She has a strong core and is very body aware, no problem performing exercises. She wants to get into group classes but requires some modifications due to the vertigo. We have tried Elephant due to the balance of standing on the reformer and also head hanging down. I have been trying to think of a modification or alternative exercise that she could instead of Elephant when she moves into a group class setting. She is okay doing Knee Stretches Round so suppose she could do this instead and then repeat again with rest of the class. Any suggestions?
Slightly different muscle group, but you could also do turtles (also called reverse knee stretches) where she's kneeling with her knees against the shoulder blocks, facing away from the foot bar with hands on the platform pulling the knees in and out keeping the shoulders stable. She can use a red or blue spring using neutral, imprint or spinal extension and that would be a way to avoid doing knee stretches twice. Just an idea :)
