I would appreciate help in trying to figure this out. I just got a new pair of mutifocal glasses. I find that to see things below me, I have to lower my neck a lot. For example, when going down the steps. Ordinarily when trying to see things below us, we move our eyes much more than the neck. Won't this type of constant neck lowering affect balance and spine alignment? If so, are there any suggestions? Thanks so much, Rina
Hello Rina, Long term this will have some affect on your neck and spine. Ultimately our brain adjusts to multifocal glasses. One suggestion I would make is to explore movement that integrates the eyes, head, neck to pelvis, femurs and ankles. Using eye differentiation in your daily life and movement you do with the pilates equipment will make a big difference. Finally I would explore the Feldenkrais Method as they have many lessons that do as above. Gail
