pain in left heel

Can anybody advise nor help with a searing sharp pain I sometimes get when bendind in the opposite direction of my left outer foot. It feels like a sharp object has piereced my outer heel area about 3 cm below my ankle bone and cm from the base of my heel? What is this and are there any excersises or stretches I can do on my pilates reformer?
Louise , I used to get a similar pain . I never really addressed exactly where it came from . I think it originated elsewhere ( in hips and pelvis region ) . Through regular intentional pilates practice it has subsided ! I have found when we have any kind of pain it is a great opportunity to slow down and remember what pilates is and the magic of this mind body movement. I hope this helps !!
Hi Louise I've definitely had clients who have had this experience and the reality is it could be a number of things and as Deborah pointed out can relate to the hip and spine. What I'd suggest is checking in with your doc. Odds are it's not anything serious, but then they'll be able to get you a diagnosis and hopefully a strategy for the best way to address it. Hope this helps! xo Nikki
