I seem to be bulking up more than slimming down. I use the jumpboard often in addition to various exercises on my pilates reformer. Any suggestions? Also would like advice with side lying leg positioning, do I keep the lower leg forward or back to work the outer thigh as opposed to the buttocks. When doing footwork with pelvic lift, to work the legs, do I lift my pelvis slightly or all the way?
Some suggestions. Are you using heavy springs on the JB? If so that will build the muscles in your legs particularly if you’re genetically prone to building muscle. I am and I use light springs for footwork as well. Instead I do lots of standing ballet work using my own body weight as resistance. With side lying— I’m not sure I understand your question but if you line your legs up with your spine it will challenge your lateral stabilizers more. I would avoid things like bands and ankle weights. The weight encourages muscle development. Walking with long strides is great. No up hill.. again muscle building. Lots of stretching and elongation. I hope this helps!
Thanks for the suggestions. I usually use a red & blue spring on the JB, also just blue or just red.
When sidelying, I wasn’t sure how to best position my bottom leg that’s on the platform. I tore my meniscus, had surgery 5 weeks ago so I’m trying to ease back into it.
