Hip opener

Ok , I need a bit of a reminder here. I am doing my hip opener on the towe(Cadillac) the other day and something did'nt feel right, help me out here on alignment.. I am BASI trained yes.. so I know when i bend leg it should go in direction of or behind my shoulder .. but i felt lined up all wrong and not in sync with this. Somebody give me verbatum where foot goes on top of PTB and how I should be lying?? Thanks!!!!!! Jamie
Hello Jamie! I think that you should be lying on your side in the middle of the mat and as far as you are for the footwork. Your toes should be in line with hip & shoulder... but this is an ideal position and you can have a look at Kristi doing it in the amazing Cadillac class with Leah. Personally, I can't do it in the ideal way, (poor external rotation on my hip and pain) so I lie more on the back side of the Cadillac and I put the toes almost on the opposite side of the PTB. I hope I could explain it (English is not my language) and it may help!
