I have been in this situation of being the new client in a studio. I found that due to my limited flexibility and posture issues, I got more benefit out of the equipment. Doing things like stretching the back of your legs, it can be very helpful to use the equipment when you're someone like me who can not sit up straight or reach his toes on the mat. But maybe your new client doesn't have my flexibility problems... I am just a Pilates beginner giving my personal experience, and I'm sure everyone is different.
