Looking for more information on clients with herniated discs, have two clients with discs bulging out, L4, L5. I was under the understanding that pelvic stability, neutral was the route, however one client was told by her chiropractor to do pelvic tilts...suggestions??
It depends where exactly (ant/post) the disc is "bulging". Each pt. is different. If the person has an extreme lordosis, a tiny pelvic tilt might be a good idea to turn on the transversus abd. Otherwise, neutral is best. If they are currently having symptoms I would limit ANY mobilization. Some might love prone if they (and the disc) prefers extension. Might want to contact the chiro for guidance? hope that helps a bit!
