Hi everybody! i need you experience help!! i have a client with complete paralysis of lower and medium trapezius. she can not protract and extrarotate her left arm.. any ideas of how could I help in reeducating the muscle would be appreciated thank you in advance and congratulations for Pilates anytime!!!! maria
Hi Kristi..yeah its a very interesting question and a very particular case but at the same time difficult for my experience, I started teaching Pilates 2 years ago. My client was actually born with paralysis of trapezious (left side only )and I think that all the muscles around the shoulder girdle are weak. Moreover, the fact that she,has the tendency to "protect" her left arm, changed her whole posture. Her left arm is completely internal rotated. i believe that pilates really can helps her first of all by wake up the nervous system and then the muscles. Its obvious that first of all lots of work should be done for helps her stabilize the shoulder girdle and reactivate important muscles like serratus anterior. Any kind of suggestions, ideas concerning the above mentioned situation are very very welcome. Thank you and again congratulations for the idea to create Pilates anytime..so many amazing classes and ideas..
thank you in advance and congratulations for Pilates anytime!!!!
