NEED MORE WORKOUT VIDEOS; LESS INSTRUCTIONAL CHATTER FROM TEACHERS!!

I'm hoping that the "problem" I'm encountering is that I just haven't spent enough time taking classes on this site yet but so far, there is one thing that routinely disappoints me & that is the incessant, instructional chatter from the teacher! Possibly, this is a website dedicated more to the person who's never taken Pilates before? If so, that makes sense but in most Pilate classes, there is a flow to the sequences of movements that seems to be missing from ALL of these videos. If the teachers aren't spending 2 minutes TALKING and teaching prior to EACH an EVERY movement, then they are making idle chit chat with the students! Can someone PLEASE direct me to the mat/magic circle/band classes on this site that do NOT contain approx. 15-20 mins (in an hr class) of the teacher yacking away about how to properly do each exercise or even stopping to correct students? The actual "FLOW" of Pilates is missing in ALL the classes I've taken so far!

I don't think the same !! Instead I like receiving detailed information ( especially from Amy) I love teachers speaking to create awareness and this is why I don't like the classical style because they use the same words over and over again.... There are many ways of thinking.. Monica Italia

I agree with you monica:)
Dawn, I see you have only tried two of our classes since you joined and both were part of progressions intended to teach the exercises in detail. If you don't need that detail, I'd suggest not choosing "breakdown" classes. Each class has a description underneath the video that should tell you what to expect prior to taking it. Our aim is to provide something for everyone rather than to frustrate. That said, our classes are real, the teachers are teaching the students in the room as well as those elsewhere. They will speak to them on occasion. They will clarify and even correct when necessary. We have 883 more classes for you to choose from. We hope you will explore more than 2 classes before making the declarations you have here. If you are willing to do that, please send me a message at Kristi@pilatesanytime.com with your Pilates experience and general health history and I will be more than happy to direct you to classes that suit your needs.
I completely disagree with Dawn. I've been taking pilates for 6 years and since there are sooooo many movements, I feel it's extremely important for the instructor to tell me and then remind me of proper form, etc. Another thing that bothers me is when there isn't enough cuing because I use the reformer and a lot of times you have to turn your back to the TV/Instructor so I need to hear them cuing. Dawn, maybe you should put your TV on mute? Just saying.....kinda a silly comment.

This isn't a Pilates site which I don't recommend; I was thinking of transferring my membership over to my daughter who's just starting with Pilates. She could definitely use all the before-each-movement explanations & demonstrations. The less formal nature of these videos are exactly what she would need as a beginner starting out.

I just took a Pilates class at my local Yogaworks. It was refreshing to have the instructor start the class off, immediately, with the "hundreds"; the second we were all laying on our backs at the beginning of class. We flowed right into the other movements; with the instructor ONLY, briefly, explaining the moves, as we were actually DOING them - not w/multiple demonstrations before hand & long, explanatory pauses in between sequences. Does anyone have recommendations as to which of these videos on Pilates Anytime follow that format? Thanks!
