I noticed that some pilates instructors are also trained in Gyrotonics! How about a class that includes some Gyrotonics exercises done on the reformer or Cadillac? Incorporated into a pilates routine of course. Gyrotonics has such lovely rotational movements that can best complement pilate's linear moves.
It would be great. I made another class suggestion a year and a half ago regarding a weighted pole in a mat routine. Got a "we're working on it". Never happened. Hopefully this one won't slide in the cracks.
Pele ~ I am sorry we didn't get back to you sooner. We are just getting back to work after a holiday weekend. I have just talked to Kristi and told her your suggestion about Gyrotonic exercises in some of the classes. We usually don't tell the instructors what to teach, we give them suggestions. We will let them know that there is an interest for these types of classes though.
I can also chime in here......we recently had Leah Stewart at the studio filming some pre-natal classes. Although she was teaching pre-natal themed exercises, many included spirals, rotations, arch and curl-type movements and she did refer to Gyro a little bit. Pele, you may keep your eye out for these upcoming classes from Leah .... some beautiful work indeed! I will also pass the word along to some of us regular teachers. I don't think any of us are Gyro experienced, but I could be wrong. It's worth spreading the word!
