Springs/Equipment needed

I would love it if during the equipment classes, you could have the springs used shown at the bottom of the screen. Sometimes I miss it when its spoken.

Also, more equipment classes!! =)
This is a good idea Rachael... and I'm a bit hesitant given the various apparatus people have. Would it be more useful to you for us to list what we are using on our Balanced Body equipment specifically ( 1 red etc..), or would you prefer to know "relative resistance?' In other words, whether we are aiming for light medium or heavy resistance given the exercise we are doing?

It would be the most helpful for me to have the springs that you are using on Balanced Body equipment because that's what I practice on as well. =) Maybe you can have a chart that can compare Balanced Body spring tension other manufacturer's?

Hi, I use the STOTT reformer and Peak Pilates Chair, so I agree. It would be great if you had a comparison chart for each manufacturer and piece of equipment. That way when the instructor is using Balaced Body equipment, I will know the comparable spring tension.
I am not sure how easy this is to do. Just a suggestion. Thanks
Cheryl I've thought about trying to do that, but the spring tensions vary even within the same manufacturer. In addition to that, the main reason to add or take off a spring is to to facilitate the objective of the exercise without losing form. That is to say, the spring resistance is really relative. If we are doing leg work and the objective is strength, one would apply enough resistance (heavy) to challenge the legs without compromising any other part of the form. I know you know this, I am just offering the reason I stall on comparing springs on the various apparati. A final reason I haven't done this is for the fact that I would also need to include all the home version Reformers and chairs in this chart to accommodate everyone. Now we are talking about comparing cords and bands to springs. Yikes! What I hope we do is help the students in our classes understand the exercises more thoroughly so they can better decide the appropriate spring tension for them... on that day.
