I have a 6 year old daughter who would like to do classes with me. Once we begin, she finds it too challenging and gives up. Is it possible to have classes that use child friendly language and not too complex movements that are easy for the child to follow whilst at the same time also physically beneficial for the mum??? Challenging I know, but if anyone can come up with something like this, Pilates Anytime can. Thanks for your consideration.
OMG! I'm so sorry I missed this AND I have great news! Brett Howard, a distinguished teacher, if not legend in the Pilates world, is coming to PA in March to teach an entire workshop on the subject of Pilates and children. Brett is incredibly passionate about this subject and applies the latest research on cognition and movement as it relates to children which he ultimately applies to Pilates. I have no idea where you live Susan, but your daughter is the age of participant we need in this workshop. If you are so inclined we'd love if you could attend. I am very excited about this workshop.
Incidentally, it takes a while to put the workshops up online so you can expect something around May for sure. Once I hear what Brett has to say, I'll be able to answer your question better. I can tell you that I am very open to it! Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks for getting back to me Kristi. That's great news about Brett Howard's visit in March. I live in Australia so unfortunately my daughter is unable to attend the workshop in person but I will watch out for it online. It would be very interesting to hear what Brett has to say regarding my suggestion and I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks again!
