Mia, Brent Anderson is coming to PA on Monday to do a Back Care workshop for us. We'll get some good info on this subject and hope we can apply it to our classes. Thank you.

I was thinking very similar -- would like to see reformer excercises/ modifications for low back pain (not caused by weak abs/core but rather disc problems) :D

Hi, when will Brent Anderson's class be available? Thank you.
Zuleima soon! We need to get approved via the PMA so we can offer CECs with it. That requires a couple more steps. I'd guess in a couple of weeks.

Just in time for me. I have a brand new client starting next week. He has L5,S1 disc issues. Happy to say his currnet chiropractor has referred him to me since he highly advocates Pilates for his clients!! Yea!!
In the meantime it would be great if you guys could throw some modified exercises in say a reformer or mat class for those with the back issues. ??

i also have L5 S1 issues...and SI joint problems. any progress on these classes? anxious! :)
i power through most workouts, but some moves i am thinking are not good for bulges...so i'd almost love a list of which ones not to do! cheers.
HI Cindy~ We released Brent Andersons Workshop a couple of days ago. I hope you find what you need. So far his workshop is being met with high praise.
Back Care Workshop
Hey Kristi! Having herniated discs at the L4/5 and L5/S1 I have been strictly instructed to keep my pelvis in neutral when doing pilates exercises.....therefore no roll-ups or roll-downs. I see from the description that this is a key element in Brent's class. I'm not a beginner having done private sessions for 4 years, and can easily tackle level 2 or 2/3 at a moderate pace....and often can amend the exercises to do hinges instead of rolls. But sometimes this is impossible and I sit doing nothing for 10 minutes of a class, waiting for it to move onto something I can do. Any chance you can mark when a class has a lot of rolling in the description? I know my injury is pretty common as the studio I used to attend had many classes geared for those who need to stay in neutral pelvis :)
Hi Christi,
is shoulder bridge safe (vertebra by vertebra) to perform when disc herniation? if not is it possible to go up like one block with the pelvis?
Thanks a lot for your feedback!
