Welcome to Pilates Anytime!! I would look to a well-balanced Mat class program and you have 100's to choose from on this site! Specific exercises might possibly include those for the lower extremities/gluts and it would be a good idea to get cardio mixed in too. Ed Botha has a great class here on the site that is cardio mixed in with traditional Mat exercises. Really, any class on this site will be of service to you as we all offer well balanced, challenging, thoughtful and intelligent workouts. When is your trip, how much planning do you have? How heavy is your pack? Considerations......make sure to do exercises that will get your back in condition as well!
Our trip is in 4 months time, and I usually carry 16kgs (35 Pounds). I've notices that my back (upper & lower) and quads take a lot of strain from all the climbing we do.
I would like to know what Pilates exercises you would recommend to prepare for a hiking/backpacking trip?
