Nausea during and after class

Hi,
I always get super nauseous during and after a pilates class. Does anyone know why this happens? I've read that this happens to many people, I just can't figure out why. Any input is greatly appreciated!
Thx!
Sonja
Hi Sonja,
I have had a long standing issue with calf exercises in Pilates giving me nausea... I have always believed this to be due to lactic acid build up. But there are so many factors that need to be considered... especially if the nausea happens in every Pilates class, and lasts afterwards, as you have described. Below is a link to an article on the subject. I would pay special attention to your food and water intake... eating a balanced meal about 90 minutes before and a healthy snack soon after. Hope you can solve it Nausea and Pilates
Might be a bit off the rails here Sonja , but it could be inner ear imbalance as well. During my nursing years I worked for a little while with an ear specialist. Just recalled seeing a patient that practiced yoga with the same issue. She had an imbalnce in her ear drum..so its worth looking into.. Do you get dizzy on heights, rides at fairs, swings etc?
Or like layla suggested it could be the diet as well. Just a thought!
Thank you Layla and Jamie! I will check out the article. It's very weird, the inner ear could be a possibility, and it could also be food. I do workout pretty soon after eating, maybe 10 -15 min after, and I do not drink enough water! I also read something about not doing breathing the right way, and possibly contracting stomach muscles too much, and maybe doing too hard of an exercise... I will address all these in the next class, and hopefully it will solve the problem! Thanks again for your input!
Sonja
