So right on! I always loved how there were always several ways to help the student “feel” the point of what you were striving to teach them. I’m speaking in past tense because I closed my studio and retired last year. Cheers
I appreciate your comment about the mat work being the foundation. I understand instructors wanting to differentiate themselves but it's important not to forget the foundation. It is the original work that makes Pilates unique among exercise methods and provides the ability to expand and evolve the work. I've always felt it's not so much the exercise you do but how you do it that makes the difference. The original mat work, performed as Joseph instructed, provides the foundation for all other movement. Practice indeed will perfect any exercise.
