what if a participant is unable to lie down fully on the barrel and they feel a very big stretch on the front of the body? is that due to front or back tightness?
Manasa Kannan that is a great question and difficult to say for sure without seeing that body in movement. That said, it is likely a combination of both front and back body tightness. If the front body is tight it will prevent the spine from going into full extension over the barrel and the person will experience a stretch in the front of the body. Also, tightness is the back of the body may prevent the spine achieving full extension and produce a stretch in the front of the body as well. Another factor to note is the flexibility of the shoulder region which could prevent the upper spine from achieving extension and also create a stretch in the front of the body. In short, there are many things to consider. If you can provide me with more specific details about where the client feels the most restricted I can try to be more helpful.
Meredith Rogers this is helpful nevertheless Meredith, thanks so much! This is along the lines of what I saw in my client as well so your explanation cemented the fact of what was going on :)
