injuries

Hi, I've been doing Pilates for a while but I am new on this site. I have ticked the boxes to match my specifics or ideal for classes but I cannot seem to navigate easily to what I'm searching for. I have some injuries mainly terrible tennis elbow with a shoulder issue. I would like to find classes that deal with that or to know if they will offer alternatives before going through the video.
Rachel ~ Thank you for your forum post. We do have classes that may work well for you, depending on how bad your injuries are. You can try our classes that focus on shoulders. Some are meant for strengthening while others are designed for people with shoulder issues. If you read the descriptions before taking the class, it should tell you which type of class it is. Also, tennis elbow is usually from overuse, so I believe many of our Mat classes without props would work because you won't be straining the areas that are inflamed. I hope this helps! Please email us at contact@pilatesanytime.com if you have any further questions.
Hello, speaking about injuries, it’s true that we can easilly find apropriate classes for most parts of the body in recovery phase.
But something I didn’t found is classes suitable to avoid using some body parts for the time you have to rest it totaly. For instance, one client has a broken shoulder, she has to keep it still for 3 weeks, I have an ankle strain, 3 weeks too without moving it. It would be handy to find workouts suitable for the more common imobilizations (ankle, wrist, shoulder, elbow, knee...). Sometimes the class exists, but it’s not easy to find because it wasn’t specially designed for this purpose. What about filters like « without using arms », « no weight on the feet ».... ? Thank you for giving me your opinion on this topic.
Evelyn ~ Thank you for your post and suggestion. I will pass your suggestion onto our team. When dealing with immobilizations, you have to get creative with your exercise choices and apparatuses. I usually think of all the exercises that the client needs and see if there's a way to modify or if that exercise is better on another piece of equipment.
