Excellent class. I really enjoyed using the ring while thinking about the breath: How the the diaphragm moves DOWN on the inhale so there is room for the air we bring into the lungs. And when the diaphragm moves down, the ribs expand. And then when we exhale, the diaphragm floats back up. Not only was the breathing focus helpful because I need to breath, it was also helpful because it's a lot to think about. And if I'm actually thinking about it, there is a lot of "awareness" around the practice. So it combined so nicely with the Day # 1, I thought! And my gosh, it's hard to focus sometimes - even on things we like - such as pilates. But you made it very easy to focus here. A really awesome class. Thank you, Meredith. :)
My wife and I have been practicing Pilates about 5-6 time a week since last July both at a local studio as well as here in our home on our Balanced Body reformer/tower. We both love your sessions because you are deliberate and explain in terms even us non-professionals can understand with your great cues. After 7 months of Pilates Anytime I can do bent knee sit ups for the first time in 17 years since back surgery....thank you, thank you, thank you!
Two thumbs up, Meri! I really enjoyed this class, especially the breath pattern with the ring and the push-ups at the end using the ring are brilliant! You rock!
