Been away from my practice for 2 years. What a wonderful way to reconnect with proper form with excellent pacing to feel each movement. Thank you so very much!!
JENNIFER E hi! Oh, I am so happy you get back into your practice 😊. I am so grateful you chose this class and hope you continue on with all of the other amazing classes and instructors at PA!
Hi Erin, regrettably, I cannot come even close to sitting up on my sit bones even with a folded towel under me. I cannot sit in an L shape with legs out in front of me at all. I cannot stress how unattainable that position feels enough. Please tell me Pilates isn't hopeless given my inability to complete this basic position. Do you have any recommendations for fixing this? Thank you.
Lydia D hi! Oh girl, you are not alone! Think about it like this, if you’re laying down on your back and do a straight leg raise, the height your leg can lift to without bending your knee is the degree (more or less) your hip can flex to. Try stacking multiple towels, find a low stool to sit on, a low hard surfaced chair, etc. until you can feel yourself on your sit bones and your legs can be relatively straight. Then proceed with exercises like Spine Stretch, Saw, Seated Twist, etc. I hope this is helpful! You are in the majority not the minority! Keep at it! That position is five percent of the incredible work!
