Hi Alexandra, I completely agree with Kristi. If your feeling a bit stiff, always feel free to do some stretching beforehand. Joseph Pilates was a genius though and each exercise was designed to prepare you for the next including warm up and cool down exercises. Have fun!
Great class. Wonderful explanations - the box, pilates stance, pressing ribcage down to lift head, reaching out from leg, angles of arms and legs on double leg stretch. GREAT instruction Can't wait to do #2 in her series.
This was a great class. Just getting back into Pilates after being away for a while and this class was such a good way to refresh my positions. Great instructor! I will be doing her entire Beginner series!
Excellent class and I'll be taking your beginner series. Your explanations are solid which helps me to learn correct form. I really like knowing which muscles are supposed to engage. I think I'll also watch class #319. I knew my traps aren't strong and they are sore after this class. Don't get me wrong, this is a really good thing! I knew they were not strong enough and have always had a tough time engaging them. You taught me how! Thank you. What I'd like to know is why did it take me so many years to "discover" pilates. I have needed this forever!
I just finished Niedra Gabriel's beginner series. Really thought I'd learned it all. Then I found Monica had a beginner series too. I'd done one of Monica's other beginner classes during my trial period and was blown away by her most incredibly outstanding instruction. Let me be clear: I learned a LOT from Niedra (who is superb instructor) but taking this class from Monica taught me even more. I'll be taking the rest of this series and I hope many, many, many more of Monica's classes. BTW, I'm an above knee amputee as of 13 months ago.
