Dear Elizabeth, thanks for this great class! I have a question though: why do you ask to cross the ankles in the roll up/ roll over? Thanks for your answer. keep recording new videos for pilates anytime please: ))) Celine
Thank you Celine for your support. Most everyone has pelvic and spine asymmetries. When you cross your right ankle in front of the left it tends to lead the front of the sacrum to face left of center. If your pelvis tends to face left in daily life the roll up/roll over in this configuration will be your direction of ease. If, however, you tend toward a right facing pelvis, this configuration will be more challenging. We can all benefit from practicing both variations. Please try the exercise again with each ankle in front and let me know if you can identify your pelvis directions of ease and challenge. Two weeks ago I recorded 4 new programs at Pilates Anytime. They should be posted this spring!
