About Meredith Rogers
Primary Teacher Training: BASI Pilates®
Since early childhood Meredith has been passionate about all things athletic. She was born and raised in the mountains of Lake Tahoe, Nevada where she was encouraged as an athlete participating competitively in downhill skiing and soccer. In addition to these pursuits, she fostered a love that continues today for swimming, hiking, snowshoeing, snowboarding and anything else that allows her to be outdoors enjoying nature.
Meredith discovered Pilates about twelve years ago while rehabilitating a knee injury. She immediately gravitated towards it after experiencing firsthand a discipline that promotes balance and alignment as well as strength. Meredith is continually inspired by the principles of concentration, control and precision and strives daily not only to incorporate them into her Pilates practice but also works diligently to include them into her daily life. This makes Pilates for her, not only a fitness regimen, but also a path to mental, physical and spiritual well being.
After falling head over heels with her Pilates practice, Meredith subsequently studied and was certified through the
BASI Pilates® Comprehensive Teacher Training Course. Meredith is currently a resident of Santa Barbara, California where she has been teaching at
La Playa Pilates and Wellness Center since its origin in 2002. Throughout her career she has had the opportunity to work with a variety of students ranging from children to teenage athletes, new mothers, clients wishing to enhance specific sports related endeavors and the elderly population. Meredith is continually excited about and inspired by the broad spectrum of the population that pilates relates to and how it can be tailored to address individual needs while its principles are infallible and never changing.
Since joining the BASI faculty, Meredith has relished the opportunity to travel extensively within the United States as well as such exotic destinations as Australia, Japan and China. She is continually driven by the opportunity to share her love of the Pilates method and the Body Arts and Science technique with students all over the globe and loves to watch them integrate the work into their bodies and their lives.
When asked by her dear friend Kristi to be a part of Pilates Anytime, Meredith jumped at the chance. Being a part of this project has further enabled her to share her passion for Pilates not only with her own students but also with people from all over the globe. She feels so blessed to be a regular teacher on Pilates Anytime. It allows her to spread her love of Pilates and its guiding principles as well as be a part of an organization which strives to deliver quality instruction to its members.
