Sitting in a comfortable position with the Regal posture of a King or queen spine. Straight Chin gently tilted down, hands resting in a comfortable position. As always, we begin with the breath, breathing in and breathing out. Breathing in. I relax my body, breathing out, I relaxed my mind. Breathing in and breathing out. With each breath, becoming comfortable, becoming present, bringing yourself to the here and the now and the breath is the easiest way to do that because it is what is truly present.

It's not like you forced the breath, it's just as you give your attention to the breath, you become present. Breathing in and breathing out, connecting to your wisdom. [inaudible] sitting and breathing and getting comfortable. [inaudible] and as we said today we'll be doing a meditation on love and kindness [inaudible] so we begin by imagining some words that for you would be a wish of loving kindness, not only to others, but to yourself. Some of the traditional words that are used are may you be held in loving kindness, may you be safe, may you be healthy and body in mind.

May you have happiness and ease. I'll say those again and see if they fit for you. And if not, find words that will be an expression of love and kindness. So again, may you be held in loving kindness. [inaudible] may you be safe, may you be healthy and body and mind.

May you have happiness and ease as you sit. Imagine someone that you love very much sitting in front of you, feel their presence and connect to what would be loving and kind for this person today. And as you imagine them sitting in front of you and feel the connection to them saying the words may you be held in loving kindness. May you have safety, may you have health, may you have happiness and ease. Now imagine another person that you care about deeply sitting in front of you could be more than one sitting before you and you imagining their presence and feeling the energy of love and kindness out to these people that you care about.

Okay? And with your heart open saying, may you be held in loving kindness. May you be safe, may you be healthy in body and mind. May you have happiness and ease. And allowing them to sit there and absorb this kind of wish that you have sent to them. This is the energy coming from you.

Energy of love, energy of kindness, remembering to breathe, always bringing yourself back to the present. If you find your mind wandering, always coming back to the breath, breathing in and breathing out. And as we continue, imagine yourself in front of you. Feel your presence holding yourself in a heart filled with love, filled with compassion as if you are a small baby and offering to yourself the same words. May I be held in loving kindness?

May I be safe, may I be healthy in body and mind. May I have happiness and ease. And really allowing yourself to take that in and connecting to what would really be loving and kind for today. Because when you give yourself love and kindness, you're more open to be able to give this to other people and your life is happier and easier, more joyful and filled with compassion. And isn't that what we want? So again, we say to ourself, opening our hearts, may I be held in loving kindness?

May I have safety. May I have health, may I have happiness and ease and letting yourself take that in. Feel it fully. Notice your heart opening to the beauty of those words. [inaudible] now extending this to all the people you know, even people you don't know very well. Maybe just acquaintances, someone you might see in the grocery store, someone who delivers a package to your house. Feeling the presence of these people. May you all be held in loving kindness.

May you find safety. May you have health, may you have happiness and ease, interest, feeling this coming from you and how good it makes you feel to be sending love and kindness. [inaudible] now extending this even further extended as far as you can reach maybe entire planet. Be held in loving kindness. May All people, animals, our earth itself have safety, be healthy, have happiness and ease. [inaudible] breathing in and breathing out. [inaudible] is the golden light descends into your body, into your brain, filling you with it's illumination.

It's healing glow. One more time. May I be held in loving kindness. May I be safe, may I be healthy. May I be happy and live a life with ease. This I give to myself and this I give to all of you.

Um... just a question. Forgive me if I seem naive but meditation on a pilates website? I thought it's more yoga stuff... I didn't know pilates included seated meditation. Interesting.
"It would be a grave error to assume that even Contrology exercises alone will remake a man or a woman into an entirely physically fit person...proper diet and sufficient sleep must supplement our exercise...Another important factor in this connection is that of relaxation at stated fixed intervals throughout our workday wherever it is possible to do so, since this practice keeps us physically fit after we have obtained physical fitness." Joseph Pilates page 17 -18 Return to life
Pele ~ I don't know that Mr. Pilates speaks specifically about seated meditation as part of his program. We are also not stating that meditation of any kind is specifically a part of Pilates. What we aim to do with any of our content that is not an exercise class, is to offer content that supports the idea that "balance is between rest work and play." To our mind, the attempt to achieve this balance is the backbone (no pun intended) of the Pilates method ultimately. That said, we will try to be more clear in our presentation of meditation on this site so that people understand that is only offered as an option to those who have difficulty accessing "relaxation at stated fixed intervals" on their own. As always I appreciate your discerning feedback. You are a huge asset to this site when you share your thoughts so clearly as you do. Thank you.

I love Bobbee. I've had the privilege of seeing her beautiful soul grace my Pilates studio (under new ownership). She has always exuded such light, and warmth. Now I understand why.

A huge problem with athletes and dancers is to allow enough time to rest, eat properly and sleep well. Maybe this class will help!!
I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate the meditation classes by Bobbee. Since it's in My Favorites, it is a gentle reminder to make meditation a part of my everyday routine. Whether or not it was intended as a part of Mr. Pilates' plan, we can all benefit from this. Thank you.
Thanks Bobbee - beautiful meditation and a restful way to end my practice.
Hi Bobbee, this is a beautiful meditation and so fullfilling. I plan on incorporating this into my routine with the other great meditations by you. Thanks! Love & light! Angie
Pilates is about awareness and control of the body (contrology). Awareness is cultivated in the mind. Meditation is awareness of body and mind. Pele, everything is connected and this is necessary to realize in life and in movement.

This was a wonderful guided meditation and am so glad you offer this on the site. Thank you.
that was a very beautiful meditation
