Love your instruction, Meredith. Just wondering what your thoughts are on Pilates on back issues, specifically, dealing with degenerative disc disease and bulging disc. I’ve received injections for this which helps enormously, but I’m wondering if there are any specific Pilates moves that you’d recommend that I avoid. Thanks so much!!
Thanks so much Carol. I believe that Pilates can be a powerful tool in keeping the body healthy and strong. The most important thing is that you always listen to your body and avoid movements that feel painful to you either during the session or after. I, personally, feel that the more fundamental movements can help build strength from a deep place and they are usually my go to when teaching students with spinal conditions. Hope that helps.
Every class, every movement was slow and controlled and with purpose. Love, love love. However what I enjoyed most of all was your sense of humour and whimsical comments. I enjoyed every class and will come back to the entire challenge for a great workout and a smile.
Thank-you! The whole series was wonderful. I loved how it built, and the threads running through so that the movements became familiar over time. I didn’t quite manage to do it every day, but didn’t miss many, and always loved coming back to it. The final class was lovely with so many great tips and movements. I really enjoyed the twist on the forward stretch. I’m planning to start again from the beginning as soon as my abs begin to recover from Day 9!
