This class was deep, focused, showing great attention to detail. I found it a little extra special being a South African and living in the US. Great cues, I may have to stop in for a class next time I am in Cape Town. Thanks Ed, I'm taking some of these cues and putting them in my back pocket ready to pull out in the studio.
I did enjoy this class and Ed, your cueing is excellent. Your cues deepened my perspective of some of the exercises...especially the heels squeezing together through frog. I imagine this class is wildly popular as it is a new reformer class.
On another note...I have never had the problem with video pausing during the viewing of a class and imagine it must be due to multiple members downloading at once? I don't know, but it made for a fragmented session...I did lower the quality of the transmission but that didn't help.
Again, Ed, you are an excellent teacher and I enjoyed your style! More reformer classes, please. Happy New Year to all at PA, especially Kristi and your tireless pursuit of bringing pilates professionals and advanced students such quality work and community. I am so grateful! Thank you!
Fantastic class! Loved the pace, It really allows for resetting neutral and maintaining length and width thro the torso! I found it much easier to tap into the fascial support system in my body and just let muscle work happen rather than getting into too much concentric muscle work...I like the lengthened support feeling your cueing encouraged Ed. Hope you'll be doing more classes on this site!I have been to Capetown but that was 21 years ago!
I could listen to him all day long! The cueing is perfect, and the accent like honey. I loved this class! I wish I could've seen the comment thread before Melissa Bee gave up her account. I would've told her she could modify the exercises so she wouldn't need the box, but that the box would be an investment she wouldn't regret.
Kristi, Thank you for listing a few classes that don't require the box. I, like Melissa, don't have a box yet either, but it's on the list to purchase! It might be helpful to list, on every class description, any additional props that may be used in a class.
Hi Kim, I actually chose not to list the Reformer box as a prop. I got through about 30 classes before I realized that only 4 didn't use the box. Unfortunately, two of those classes use jump boards which I assume you wouldn't have. The fact is the Reformer box is very much a part of a Reformer and the original repertoire so it safe to assume that a Reformer class will use the box. As far as our other classes are concerned, we do list the props required in the class titles. Occasionally we miss one, so please let us know if we do.
