The Thread of the Single Leg Pull

What defines an exercise as a Pilates exercise? The short answer is that all Pilates moves utilize the six principles and employ flexion, extension with a strong core. As one advances in the method, it is important to remember to go back to the basics as the exercises become more complex. In every Pilates exercise, there is a thread that links to the basic Mat or Reformer. This is the true essence of the method, and it's what a teacher will impart on a student's first day.

In this workshop, Kathryn Ross-Nash looks at the components of the Single Leg Pull and she finds connections to it in other exercises. She uses the equipment to find the correct alignment so you get the full benefit of the exercise. Kathryn says "the Single Leg Pull is so important because it connects to everything." By looking at the whole body instead of just parts, you will be able to see this exercise in every movement.
