Hi True Beginner....first, I love your profile name! Second....don't worry if you can't roll all the way up. Many new students cannot. If you have a pair of ankle weights you could wrap around your feet, that could help, or simply roll up as far as you can and 'wait for the roll up to happen'. It will, it takes practice! OR...you could start from sitting up and work to roll back/down as far as you can. I've had to practice for years, don't give up!!
