Rachel L and Susan R Thank you both for your comments. Susan, good luck with your upcoming surgery! I too did a lot of specific stretching as I wanted to keep my muscles intelligent. You are right - a lot of pain is coming from the muscle adaptation to solve the problem of the hip degeneration. Fascia has X6 pain receptors ( something like this) to muscles and they are huge in pain signals. listen to your body, dont be afraid to move and you will find freedom on the other side, if you trust your body and don't rush recovery!
Thank you Niedra- great wisdom regarding our asymmetry and how the machines can inform and help improve us. Really liked the tree with arm support - why has that not been taught before!! My clients will relish the opportunity to support as they go back and also it gave me such a much better hip flexor opening.
Caroline B You make me laugh about why this approach has not been taught before... If I did this in an exam - I would be failed !!!! Trainings and certifications teach a specific system and any training has rules and regulations to establish a foundation - and keep teachers stable and safe. I respect this! I have been teaching and working with bodies for close to 50 years ! so I have developed my own creative exploration and understanding of bodies, so its " my own thing". I have found students and professionals who know their bodies love it. Please enjoy " being a rebel".
