You are most welcome Susan. I am very happy to work with you on this project. SInce 2006 I have been developing movement sequences in the contemporary Pilates environment for heroes in motion including people with amputations. I teach a course through Balanced Body specifically to prepare Pilates teachers to be effective instructors with these populations in their community. The course is offered in the US and internationally. Perhaps a studio in your area would be interested in hosting it.
I don't have a relationship with any of the studios, but I'd be happy to visit some (or all) of the studios in order to get an idea if anyone is interested. If you have relevant info that is appropriate for such visits, please send it my way. THANK YOU AGAIN, Elizabeth!!!!!!
Susan, let's continue this conversation outside of the Pilates Anytime Forum. If you like, you can email
contact@pilatesanytime.com and they will connect us. All the very best to you
Elizabeth, you are such a wonderful resource for our members and for all of us here at Pilates Anytime. Thank you.
Thanks Elizabeth! Great workout! I apprcietate the precision , specificity, and creativity. I am going to try this with a professional musician client. In addition to rounded shoulders etc. he also is locked long from sternum to sub navel and locked short through the corresponding posterior. Would you recommend other exercises from other PA sessions you've done?
Thank you Mia, I am so glad this class works well for you. If these sequences benefit your client I suggest adding my new Reformer class that posted in March. I'd love to hear about your client's discoveries! All my best to you both.
What sort of cushions or pads were used in the beginning to add height to the sitting box to bring it level with the carriage on the allegro 2?
Maurgreita, I recommend a firm cushion on top of the sitting box that brings the box platform height just slightly higher than the carriage height. When you lie on the box cushion it will compress, bringing your pelvis and thorax to the same height. If the mat is too soft it will not provide enough ground force for stability. If it is too hard you may feel uncomfortable pressure. Rather like Goldilocks and the 3 Bears - find the firmness that is just right for you! Please let us know about your experience with this exercise.
Just got an Allegro w/infinity bar. These were really fun variations. And I love the variations for regular reformers, good idea offering both. As a beginner infinity bar user, would love to see more or even better point me in the direction of more on PA. I searched and got this class. It didn't disappoint! Thanks so much!
Definitely a 'go-back-to' class
