Such an informative tutorial. Tightness in this area affects both the very active and the sedentary. So that pretty much covers all my clients! Thanks so much for the anatomical focus.
This was great! I have a lot of trouble with my hip flexors on one side and all day they've been bothering me. After this tutorial, I feel much better!
This is brilliantly explained! I have two male ex-super sporty Clients who've been told hip replacements are in their near futures. They find all side lying exercises really tough but enjoy them. Would these stretches aggravate anything do you think? I think they could probably just about get into the start positions but not sure how far would be appropriate to push them....
Thanks Richard, very much appreciated. I cant really advise you from here, it would depend on what were the issues with their hips. I can say that 11 years ago in my mid thirties I was told by a specialist i had the hips of a 60 year old, and would need surgery soon. Im still doing the splits though, and remain almost pain free!
Hi Anthony, it was a good reminder as to why I have a slight lordotic spine, as I know my hip flexors are super tight due to my old competitive sport, hence I need to remind myself to tilt my pelvis and (imprint) as I squeeze my gluteus to intensify the stretch. Thanks Raymond
Thanks so much for the anatomical focus.
